Philippe Wuyts

Physician, psychiatrist, and writer of philosophical fiction and civilizational inquiry.

His work explores sovereignty, consent, burnout, fiat abstraction, coercion, and the recovery of human subjectivity in an age of institutional exhaustion and technological mediation.

Trained in medicine and psychiatry at KU Leuven and King’s College London, he later built a private psychiatric practice in Paris. Years of clinical work brought him into sustained contact with suffering, burnout, family collapse, institutional dependency, and the hidden costs of modern systems on the inner life of the individual. His writing emerged from that terrain.

Across fiction, metaphysics, and inquiry, Wuyts examines how modern systems mediate inner life: how institutional dependency, technological abstraction, and collective structures weaken agency, consent, relation, and contact with reality — and what it might take to recover a life capable of meaning.
